Switchboard Operator

The Hotel Cipriani, a Belmond Hotel, Venice, is looking for a Switchboard Operator for the 2023 season in order to create memorable gest experiences before, during, and after guests stays.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Answers all incoming calls
• Directs call to guest rooms, staff, or departments
• Places outgoing calls
• Receives guest messages and delivers the same to the guest
• Logs all wake-up call requests and performs wake-up call services
• Provides information about the hotel and its services to guests
• Knows what action to take when an emergency call is required
• Assists in reporting service complaints and problems.
• Always follows telephone etiquette
• Is fully aware of and adhere of health and safety, fire and bomb threat procedures
• Has strong multitasking abilities
• Is polite and courteous while answering the phone

Requirements

This position requires proven effectiveness in telephone interaction preferably in a luxury hotel setting. The successful candidate will possess sincerity of focus, consistent attention to every single detail, and commitment to excellence. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about the hotel and its surrounding areas to give effective directions to all guests. Candidates must have fluency in Italian and in English, another language is a plus.
