Job Description

Tyvak International, a Terran Orbital company, is seeking new members to join their team to support space vehicle development. Tyvak focuses on developing and integrating key components and technologies into highly-integrated and high performance nano-satellite vehicles. The team’s skillset ranges from architecture, design, build, and test of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems integrated into small spacecraft.

As a Thermal Analyst, the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative nano-satellite vehicle solutions for multiple projects. The individual will be responsible for some combination of analysis, software, hardware, test, integration, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Specific tasks may include:

  • Working in a small team environment closely with hardware, software, mechanical, and systems engineers to develop optimal solutions to complex problems.
  • Developing thermal simulations and performing analysis to inform vehicle design (Primarily Thermal Desktop).
  • Vehicle thermal control system architecture sizing and definition.
  • Thermal Control system hardware development, implementation, and test.
  • Contributing to concept of operations development and mission operations.
  • Participating in team discussions involving vehicle architecture and design for future projects.

Requirements

Specific requirements include:

  • Highly motivated, self-starting, enthusiastic, and able to perform duties autonomously;
  • Ability to solve complex problems with a high degree of innovation and effectiveness;
  • Ability to lead and motivate project teams to ensure program success;
  • BS or MS in engineering field with focus on Space Engineering or other engineering discipline;
  • Proficiency with Thermal Desktop analysis software is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft and/or launch vehicle systems. Small satellite or CubeSat experience desirable.
