We are looking for highly skilled programmers with experience building web applications in Java.
The Java Software engineer acts autonomously to deliver tasks of simple to medium complexity on projects. He builds the required skills to execute currents responsibilities and contribute to a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and living Elca Values. He organizes his work to maximize personal productivity and code quality. He also demonstrates the required skill set to deliver his tasks within set time frame. The Java Software engineer are responsible for analyzing user requirements and business objectives, determining application features and functionality, and recommending changes to existing Java-based applications, among other duties.
Java Developers need to compile detailed technical documentation and user assistance material, requiring excellent written communication.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing Java-based applications.
- Act autonomously in the delivery of tasks of simple and medium complexities on projects
- Build required skills to execute current responsibilities (simple amp; medium complexity)
- Contribute to a positive work environment and promote teamwork
- Ensures delivery (codes, documentations) of simple to medium complexity are executed within set quality standards and processes
- Demonstrate required skills to meet key or challenging timelines
- Structure own activities to improve productivity or minimize delays/rework
- Participate actively with the senior team members to reduce risks related to tasks or activities
- Provide technical support to junior team members
- Understands and applies standard methods, tools and processes in daily tasks
- Reduce dependence on supervisor's input on simple and medium complexities requirements
- Comply with ELCA Standards, Procedures and Policies
- Any other duties relevant to skills and competencies
Job Qualifications and Skill Sets
- Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Business fluent on written and spoken English.
- Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
- Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
- Experience in the Spring Framework
- Experience as a Sun Certified Java Developer
- Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC)
- Experience with user interface design, database structures, and statistical analyses.
- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Attention to detail.
