We offer a role as SeniorProduct Design Engineer, who will be based in Aliaxis Casella (GE), reporting to the Technical Team Leader Development Manager. This figure will be part of and provide support to the EMEA IPD (Innovation and Product Development) department.
The candidate will be in charge of running technical projects regarding new product development following all the development phases, starting from the market needs and concept creation, through 3D modeling and design using CAD tools, until the delivery to the production phase.
The Key Responsibilities can be summarized as follows:
- Concept new products with 3D CAD modelling following Product Development Engineer guidelines.
- Correctly dimensioning parts for stress resistance and injection moulding manufacturing.
- Support iterative design for product optimization together with FEM Simulation Engineer and test laboratory Engineer.
- Prepare from 3D models prepare the 2D drawings with correct dimensional tolerances and Gamp;DT.
- Provide a direct cost evaluations working with other departments of the company, Production, Purchasing and external suppliers.
- Manage the model/drawing revisions in the hub data base.
- During the development phase work with other department to give all the information needs till production phase.
- Manage the creativity phase of the project by leading Brainstorming meeting and other product development analysis.
- Define technical data for ERP data entry (Production Cycles, BOM, Packaging).
- Support for negotiation with suppliers amp; procurement (technical requirements).
- Act as the reference point for the team during the development of the product and managing the timing of the project.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering.
- High level skills in CAD software and drawings management applications.
- Deep knowledge in dimensional tolerances and Gamp;DT.
- Knowledge of plastic components design techniques.
- Competence in injection molding technology and machine tools production technology.
- Awareness in additive manufacturing technologies.
- FEM (Stress/Deformation, CFD)) knowledge and competences is considered a plus.
