Job Description

Location: Bologna or Milan

Steer is a leading independent Transport Consultancy across the world, with 20 offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Our Technical Due Diligence (TDD) team advises Lenders, Sponsors and Investors across the world on the technical and commercial risks entailed by transport and social infrastructure projects, whether during the development of new Private-Public Partnership projects, or for the disposal, acquisition (Mamp;A) or refinancing of existing projects or construction and operation and maintenance monitoring services. Our team blends together technical and commercial experience and knowledge of infrastructure projects to deliver commercial insights and practical solutions to our Clients across the world.

We are recruiting for a Civil Engineer to play a critical role in supporting the development of our TDD offer across the Company from our Italian offices, through integrated team work, work winning and cross-selling activities.

What we'd like from you:

  • Qualified Civil Engineer with experience in designing, tendering, constructing and/or contract administration of major infrastructure projects, preferably PPP or at least Design and Construction (Damp;C) and/or Operation and Maintenance (Oamp;M).
  • A balance between strength and depth in technical issues and contracts and commercial issues is important.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to explain technical details clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, time-management and ability of working as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel for short-time periods across the world as required by the projects.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Fluency in both Italian and English is a must. Additional language capabilities would be a significant advantage.

Desirable additional attributes:

  • Demonstrably proven track-record of TDD mandates (in roads/light rail transits/aviation/social infrastructure/energy/utilities) would be a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully managing stakeholder groups.
  • Extensive experience in the design and specification of road and/or airport pavements, or of railways and rolling stocks or other infrastructure would be a significant advantage.

Requirements

Qualifications required:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • 2-5 year of experience in the TDD market
