Our client who specializes in Engineering, Commissioning, and Technical Services throughout Europe on large-scale Construction Projects has an immediate need for an experienced Instrumentation amp; Control Supervisor/QC to be on-site in Sweden, who has a proven track record in delivering complex packages.
Supervise the construction activities assigned to third-party contractors, and ensures compliance with times and costs and quality, health, safety, and environmental protection requirements.
Duties include:
- Coordinating the site activities of contractors;
- Checking the adequacy of personnel and equipment belonging to the contractors, promoting any actions required to achieve objectives;
- Verifying that works are correctly carried out, in accordance with project documentation, notifying Engineering of any engineering problems encountered in the field.
- Ensuring that tests, controls, and inspections are carried out in accordance with established schedules;
- Providing assessments and recordings of inspection, control and test results;
- checking the documents certifying the tests, controls and inspections carried out and ensuring their orderly collection and management;
- Ensuring the availability of updated inspection, control and test reports, for the purpose of approvals of mechanically completed plant systems; facilitate the handover to the Commissioning Team.
- Attending the tests, controls and inspections carried out by the Contractors, checking conformity and obtaining the relevant documentation, including that required by European Directives (where applicable);
- Participating in determining corrective actions and then ensuring correct implementation of the activities for resolving cases of nonconformity;
- Checking, insofar as within remit, the test packages provided for the final checks;-
- Ensuring, with the support of the HSE Team the field control of HSE aspects, also with reference to activities developed by Contractors/Suppliers;
- Notifying the CM of problems and deviations that cannot be settled directly;
Requirements
- 9+ years of work experience in an identical position.
- Ability to interface with multi-discipline company and contractor engineering personnel, fabrication, installation, hook up and commissioning teams.
- Interpretation of engineering documents including datasheets, P amp; IDs, cable block diagrams, Cause amp; Effect Diagrams, Loop and termination diagrams, Functional logic and I/O lists, etc.
- Basic computer skills with modern day PC application packages.
- Strong general technical/engineering trade skills and knowledge of good engineering practices in instrumentation and measurement and use of standard tools and test equipment
- Hands-on installation, construction, inspection, testing, and commissioning of control and instrumentation equipment:
- Must have previous experience in the installation and commissioning of instrumentation on HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with Oil and gas safety practices, PTW systems, toolbox briefs etc.
- Familiar with the application of Completion Management Systems (PCMS) for the control of Pre-Commissioning activities (Check sheet and punch list completion etc.)
- Familiar with the concept of Commissioning Systems and the representation of the same using Limits of System Handover Documents. ( LOSH)
- Flexible on work locations and willingness to work outside discipline when required.
- Cultural awareness and the ability to work with individuals from different nationalities
