As a Systems Test Engineer, the candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to design test tools and processes, executing assembly and test procedures for modules and spacecrafts, troubleshooting issues and implementing fixes.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the processes to bring conceptual designs to full production.
- Design and write automated testing procedures at both module and vehicle level.
- Work with design engineers to debug, test and implement changes to hardware.
- Write, review, and execute qualification and acceptance test plans and procedures.
- Develop and refine manufacturing and assembly procedures based on lessons learned to improve the maturity of the system.
- Software Regression testing on modules and complete systems.
- Run environmental testing with thermal chambers, vibration tables and thermal vacuum chambers.
- Working in a cleanroom on flight hardware for extended periods.
- Occasional travel off-site for testing and integration at customer facilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline
- 1+ years of experience (internship time is also taken into consideration) as a test or manufacturing engineer supporting highly integrated cross-disciplinary assembly operations
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline
- Experience with build integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical and/or structural systems; including, but not limited to: vibration, shock, thermal, vacuum, and radiation testing.
- Documentation and configuration management experience
- Experience writing test plans, procedures and providing go/no-go judgment
- Experience in a production environment within the aerospace industry
- Experience working in cleanroom and electro-mechanical laboratory with ESD sensitive hardware.
- Experience with electrical debugging of PCB Assemblies, including the ability to read electrical schematics.
- Programming in Python, bash/shell scripting or C.
