We’re Getir, the pioneers of super-fast delivery. We deliver groceries such as sandwiches to shampoo, dog food to beer, in an average of ten minutes. Founded in 2015, we now deliver hundreds of thousands of orders a day from more than 300 locations in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Netherlands and Turkey. In 2021, we plan to rock the streets and doorsteps of several cities across the world, including Italy, spreading the experience and wonder of seamless, super-fast delivery that simply works for everyone. To make super-fast delivery possible, we don’t refrain from getting involved in all the aspects that go into it. However, we like to do everything in a startup-savvy way that is driven by technology.
As we expand our operations globally, it’s vital that we onboard excellent category buying managers to both ensure we always have the best assortment for our customers!
Role Responsibilities:
- Always be on the lookout for more relevant data sources for getting smarter on our assortment
- Create a funnel to collect all inputs for assortment and have a process that recommends a final assortment
- Work closely with the tech team to lead charge on building a scalable way to understand market data
- Coordinate with local teams for local inputs
- Continuously update the assortment list and share with the buying team
- Build a scalable framework to store and access the competitive intel you will collect in this role
- Build a process to incorporate standard company defined pricing mechanisms in-app
- Ensure the in-app product assortment is clear, with all relevant information
- Understand and create a fool proof scalable process that grows as the company grows
- Build and lead a team of associates as the function grows
Requirements
- We have a strong preference for candidates with experience in fast paced retail environments
- As a Category Buying Manager you have an experienced track record in retail or fast paced buying/trading environments. If you have experience in Fresh Foods or Grocery Non Foods, then we would love to hear from you
- No job is too big or too small, you will be comfortable being hands on everything in our model in the Business and in Commercial. That real hands on approach is key to the hustle and bustle of our culture
- Ability to leverage existing rapports with major suppliers, but also identify and develop new suppliers for Getir, across the complete spectrum of entrepreneurs like us to national brands and wholesalers
- Significant experience working within buying, working across multinational FMCG companies and/or Fresh Food companies. We don’t put an arbitrary number on experience, but rather evaluate it candidate by candidate
- Negotiation skills that not only achieve the best-in-class product margins and customer offer, but also inspire the rest of the team to continuously become better negotiators
- Analyse data for insights and demonstrate the attitude/senses of an entrepreneur to develop your portfolio
- Fluency in both Italian and English, the operating language of our international people organization
