About the Role

Your Moment Awaits. As Senior Capex Controller for the Division, you will report to the Director of Finance Southern Europe and be part of an international work environment, in which you can develop your talent and realize ideas and innovations within a competent team.

This position will work across a wide range of organizational stakeholders which include internal control, Corporate HQ, Procurement agents, Interior Design and Project managers to ensure all internal and external factors are anticipated and properly accounted in the overall project.

Possibility to have flexible working: 60% office / 40% remote

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the proper opening and closing of capital projects each fiscal year
  • Monthly reviews and monitoring of authorized spend vs budget
  • Ensure timely capitalization of projects
  • Ensure periodic Capex reporting in different Belmond tools
  • Ensure FA Capitalization according to asset classification useful life
  • Ensure proper tagging of physical assets
  • Ensure compliance with group procedures to Asset management across designated region
  • Reviews of work-in-process equipment
  • Ensure compliance of local project accounting rules with Belmond accounting guidelines and IFRS
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant Financial and Management accounting rules and Belmond Group accounting
  • Ensure compliance with all internal control requirements
  • Support all key Finance initiatives
  • Ad hoc projects as required

Requirements

What you Bring:

  • Relevant Qualification or experience in Accounting, Finance
  • Prior experience as Capex Controller or equivalent
  • Experience in Hospitality/Luxury hotels preferred
  • Excellent communication skills in Italian and English
  • Strong organization skills: ability to track and manage a high volume of projects at a detailed level 
  • Proven experience working across multiple internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively across international work streams 
  • Advanced Excel Skills
