Belmond is seeking an Operation Assistant for Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, the legendary train that transports guests to the Golden Age on captivating journeys across Europe. ABOUT THE ROLE

You like to organise and coordinate? You have great customer service skills with great attention to detail? Traveling is one of your passion? Do you have few years experience in a similar position at luxury level? Then you could be perfect for the role of Operations Assistant of one of the world’s most iconic trains.

In this role you will assist and facilitate the Operation Manager in the day-to-day operation duties. You will prepare the cabin allocation and digest all relevant guest information to prepare full documentation for the Train Managers and the VSOE on-board staff. Upon train departure, you will assist the guests' check-in and upon arrival, you will be welcoming the guest in Venice and assure the smooth transfers to the hotels. You will assist with the travel arrangements (flights, trains and hotel bookings) for staff amp; management related to the train journey. And many more exciting duties around the guests' journey experience.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is a legend in motion. Its meticulously restored carriages carry guests in sumptuous style between Europe’s most beguiling cities. Classic one-night journeys glide between London, Paris and Venice. Further routes take in Amsterdam, Brussels, Budapest, Florence, Geneva, Istanbul, Prague, Rome, Cannes, Verona and Vienna, with longer tours including overnight hotel stays. Golden age opulence is epitomised in the private cabins of polished wood and plush upholstery, while the Grand Suites offer the ultimate indulgence, with double beds, marbled en suites, free-flowing champagne, private dining and 24-hour butler service. Requirements

  • 2 4 years relevant experience within a similar role
  • Experience within the luxury hospitality industry
  • Ability and experience in handling and coordinating different teams
  • Good communication, organisational amp; administrative skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Experience in resolving customer issues/complaints
  • Fluency in English, Italian and French, both written and verbal, is essential
  • Time management skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
