Job description

The candidate in this role will be member of the local senior management team as well as the European HR community and will partner with the VP Country and the VP HR EMEA to drive proactive, strategic, forward-thinking solutions to employee and organization issues for the country.

Reporting to the VP Italy (and the VP HR EMEA in dotted line), She/he will be responsible of 5 sites across North of Italy.

The role can be based in Casella (GE) or in Zola Predosa (BO) and will require to travel weekly to the different sites.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the country roll-out of the EMEA HR Strategy defining, developing and implementing the Italian HR Strategy and operational plans for the HR function in line with the EMEA and Group HR strategy and in line with the country needs;
  • Build HR capability within the team (7 people in total), guiding them in the effective management of HR systems and tools (incl. payroll management) and administrative tasks for all employees in Italy (approximatively 700 blue and white collars);
  • Pro-actively deliver compensation, organisational design and strategies for workforce planning, deployment and retention in order to address current and future business needs; responsible for HR Budget and Labour Cost;
  • Champion a culture of growth within the matrix set-up and upgrade talent through strategic staffing and talent pipeline development (succession planning) for key roles, in line with the Group’s values and competencies with the support of Centre of Excellence at EMEA and Group level;
  • Lead Industrial Relations for all Italian sites, recommending actions/changes required to meet business results/strategies.

Requirements

  • Senior experience in general HR functions in multinational companies with experience in team management in the manufacturing sector;
  • Excellent knowledge of Italian labor law and deep experience in union negotiations in Italy;
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law issues and the ability to apply these to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and common sense approach;
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills with a bias toward rolling up sleeves to get things done;
  • Fluent in English and in Italian;
  • Knowledge of Workday and ADKAR change management methodology would be an advantage.
  • Experience acting as an integral member of a business, leading the strategic HR agenda and aligning HR strategy to business needs. Building credibility with the line and understanding the financial implications and business impact of alternative HR solutions.
  • Managing Change Experience championing change across international and functional boundaries, winning buy-in at the top and driving it against resistance.
