GIS Analyst

Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for a GIS Analyst fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will work remotely. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.
Your Tasks:
- Design and development of GIS architecture components and their building blocks;
- Raster data analysis and modelling for characterization of transport infrastructure and integration of large geo-databases into graphs supporting routing tools.
- Assistance with deployment of and configuration of the GIS solutions of interest;
- Management of the technical interfaces between users and developers of the GIS architecture;
- Analysis of the integration of GIS capabilities across different information systems, with particular emphasis on an efficient embedding of large databases into the GIS architecture;
Requirements
- University degree in IT or relevant discipline combined with 4 years of relevant experience;
- At least 3 years of experience in using at least one of the following programming languages (Python, C, C++, R, Java);
- At least 2 years of experience in using specialised software to implement GIS solutions supporting transport policy modelling, e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS or similar platforms;
- At least 1 year of experience in using geo-spatial databases that represents the characteristics of European transport networks, e.g. public transport data networks (GTFS/NeTEx) and TomTom MultiNet or similar data solutions;
- Working experience with geo-referenced transport networks datasets;
- Proven experience of working with large spatial and statistical datasets;
- Experience with QGIS (including Python scripting and Geospatial Data Abstraction Library (GDAL) embedded use);
- Experience with MATLAB, including toolboxes related to Image Processing, Mapping, Parallel Computing, Database Management, Statistics and Optimization;
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL;
- Experience with Java and visual basic applications (VBA);
- Good knowledge of ArcGIS Pro (including extensions for network and spatial analysis) would be considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of cloud computing interfacing would be considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of development integration of web-based user interfaces (e.g. Spring, JSF) would be considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of JavaScript development frameworks (e.g. Angular 2) would be considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of relational databases management and data integration frameworks, e.g. JPA would be considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of object-relational mapping (e.g. the Java Persistence API, JPA) would be considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of visualisation frameworks (e.g. D3.js, Matplotlib/GeoPandas/Python, Flourish, kepler.gl, MapBox, PowerBI, etc.) would be considered an asset;
- Working experience with transport demand datasets and econometrics tools/libraries would be considered an asset;
- Excellent command of the English language.
